

Well it's that time of year when many of us develop the sniffles, sneezes, coughs or whatever else is being passed around. These viruses are very familiar to us, however many of us aren't aware of the infections that can be passed from animals to humans. These transferable infections are referred to as Zoonotic Diseases. No matter what type of pet you own - cat, dog, turtle, parrot, mouse, lizard, monkey or whatever - you are susceptible to Zoonotic Diseases. However, don't panic (and especially DON'T get rid of your pets)! With a little precaution and preemptive measures these illnesses can easily be prevented.

Winter Tips to Keep your Pet Warm & Safe!
1. Stock up on plenty of food and refill any medications your pet may be on.
2. Play with your pets and keep them active.
3. Dry coat and paws after being outside or baths.
4. Get your pet a sweater (if necessary) and boots to keep warm.
5. Store antifreeze out of your pets' reach.
6. Don't leave your pet outside for long periods.
