I'm a Chicago born twenty five year-old who grew up with a single mom that taught me to be independent and that anything is possible! I have four brothers, and two amazing grandparents who helped raise me. My "day job" is the Recruiting Manager for Wyndham-Branson where I hire top sales professionals. Growing up, I was never a dog person - I didn't understand people who had pictures up of their dogs, etc. After a bad break-up in college, I went to a rescue and saw Payton, not knowing what I was walking into. Obviously I'm a huge dog lover now! People always ask me why I started the Killuminati Foundation and why dogs are my passion, and it's simple....dogs are just easier than people! My dogs are my best friends - they are my family - and a dog's love is unconditional. When Payton was two years old, he ruptured a ligament in his leg and broke a bone. I was shocked at how many people told me to put him down and get another one - as if he were disposable. I started the Killuminati Foundation to help those in need that could not otherwise afford treatment for their dog, to help save their canine family member.
TAME asked Jeanna some questions so we could all get to know her better. Here is what she said:
What pets do you own?
Payton a 4 yr old Shepherd mix (named after Walter Payton), Sicily a 2 yr old lab/pit mix, and many other rescues until a home is found.
Favorite activity with pets?
Watching Animal Cops. Payton loves to watch the dogs on TV.
Do you have a particular pet that stands out in your memory for a special reason & why?
Nati. My second rescue passed away when she was only one year old. Her full name was Killuminati, but we called her Nati for short. (She is actually who the foundation is named for.) I couldn't save Nati, but each dog we help is a great tribute to her memory.
Best Pet Invention?
Busy bone or a ball to play catch.
Worst pet invention?
Squeaky toy.
Funniest pet product you have ever heard of?
Puppy Popcorn! Payton LOVES to catch it!
What do you do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my pups, relaxing, watching football, and working on the Killuminati Foundation.
If you could go anywhere with your pets where would you go?
A Chicago Bears game. Payton already has his #34 jersey ready to go!
Pet event you are most excited for this year?
Project Puppy! This November 13th the Killuminati Foundation will be hosting a fundraiser dinner, dance, silent auction, and puppy fashion show. Tickets are $35 each or $300 for a table of ten. Get your tickets today on our website: www.thekilluminatifoundation.org.
Most unusual pet name you have ever heard of?
I don't know. I think Killuminati is a pretty different name!
