I just read your article on the Greene County, MO puppy mill rescue and am happy to report that I was lucky enough to be chosen to rescue one of these dogs. My family already had three Yorkies, but were compelled by this story and simply HAD to apply. We received a 4-year-old female whom we've named Juno, after the roman goddess of childbirth (so that she can be honored for her labors rather than punished). Juno is doing great! She's still a little skittish around new people, but does well with the other dogs and sleeps in our bed with the other 3. She's gaining muscle control and coordination every day and continues to amaze us. We feel incredibly lucky to have been given the opportunity to spoil her properly.

We have a 17 year old male spayed tuxedo cat called Tuxie. He has been a definite part of our family for the last 17 years. I got him from a gal at work, he was in a bad way so we took him to the vet. They said, and I quote, "This cat has the worst intestinal infection I have ever seen. I am surprised he is still living." Tuxie is a strictly indoor feline, and every time I think he is on his way out or on his last life (9 lives joke) he perks up again and is fine. I say he is like the energizer bunny, he just keeps going and going. He has only been to the vet 3 times in his life.
